Schloss Crassenstein is located near Bielefeld, Paderborn, Münster and Dortmund. The staff and facilities at Schloss Crassenstein are part of the research group around Prof. Dr.-Ing. Paul Drews, a R&D group organized as a non-profit company (gGmbH) concentrating on interdisciplinary cooperation and research in the area of mechatronics. Prof. Drews is director of APS and of the European Centre for Mechatronics and head of the research group at Crassenstein. Schloss Crassenstein offers a unique atmosphere for research, tutoring and presentation. It also provides the necessary facilities for advanced research, dissemination of research results and discussion of work in progress.
The research here focuses on embedded cognition and cognitive interaction with mechatronic systems. After more than 30 years of research the group around Prof. Drews provides extensive knowledge of acquisition and coordination of international research cooperations. Another purpose of Crassenstein is the know-how transfer and to connect the industry, also small and medium enterprises, with innovative research projects.
Research is about sharing your results as well as achieving them. Therefore, Crassenstein also acts as an international conference and seminar center for scientists and researchers from all over the world. Crassenstein is also a meeting point, a forum for discussion, dialogue and learning.
